DIRECTING

My directing practice is process-driven and ensemble-centered. In collaboration with the cast and creative team, we shape how the play is told:  discovering style, meaning, rhythm, and tempo through the doing.

The process functions like a funnel: we begin with broad swings - ideas, experiments, possibilities - then refined toward a clear, reliable structure. One the actors can trust, while still allowing discovery across the life of the run.

My work is grounded in Dr. Jerry Crawford’s Organic Combining. Actors help shape blocking, dynamics, and style. It builds ownership and sharpens relationships. I extend that same process to designers—everyone contributing to the world and language of the piece.

I direct choices, not mandate them. My initial ideas are points of departure—useful, but expendable in service of the stronger solution.​
